MIDPOINT Institute is excited to announce the participants selected for the MIDPOINT Writers' Room 2024 workshop, set to take place from October 20-26, 2024, in Prague, Czech Republic. This unique workshop will offer an international and diverse group of writers and producers the opportunity to work under the mentorship of leading European and US industry professionals.

Leading the Writers' Room The workshop will be led by Sarah-Louise Hawkins, an acclaimed British screenwriter known for her work on hit series such as Whitstable Pearl, Miss Scarlet and the Duke, The Mallorca Files, London Kills, and Father Brown. She will be joined by Gabor Krigler, founder of Joyrider TV and Development Producer at Envision Entertainment, alongside Katrin Merkel, a writers' room coach and Head of Studies at Serial Eyes, who will also serve as a guest tutor.

The 2024 cohort includes a group of talented writers and observing producers from across Europe, showcasing a blend of creative voices and unique perspectives.

Workshop Highlights
Throughout the week, participants will engage in lectures and discussions on essential topics such as organizing a writers' room and structuring pilot episodes. They will also dive into hands-on writers' room simulations, gaining practical experience in collaborative storytelling, brainstorming, and creating a unified narrative vision.
Talent Showcase at Berlinale Series Market One of the workshop’s key highlights will be the Talent Showcase in February 2025, where alumni will present their work to industry professionals during the Berlinale Series Market. This showcase will provide participants a chance to position themselves as emerging European writers ready to make their mark in the TV industry.
