Chinh Tran is originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and is now based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She’s written for short films, commercials, social media and documentaries. In 2018, Chinh moved to Europe to obtain her M.A. in screenwriting from the KinoEyes Erasmus Mundus program. Since then, her work has been selected in various short film festivals, short development schemes, and pitch forums in Finland, Portugal, Scotland, and Netherlands. In 2023, she joined the Finnish Saari artist residency to work on her first novella, ‘To The Moon’. Later that year, she won the Hypewriter Pitch Forum in Hungary for the series ‘Be Happy, or Else’. In 2024, she made her directorial debut with the 20’ short film ‘Old Miss’ which premiered in CinemAsia Film Festival in Amsterdam. She’s interested in exploring cross-media storytelling using text, photos, sound and video.
