Jeure Tavare
Jeure Tavare (he/him) is a screenwriter and director from Santiago, Dominican Republic. He is also a creative producer in the production company No Hay Sitema. Jeure studied Film at Chavón, School of Design, where he directed several short films, including Mi mamá me mima (2020), Rincón Paraíso (2020), Nely (2020), and Mami (2021). In 2023, he was selected for a national showcase highlighting emerging artistic voices and presented an installation on queer childhoods at Fabrica (Italy). That same year, his animated short Cabezú, which he wrote and directs, was awarded the Dominican Republic’s national public fund FONPROCINE and is currently in production. His work explores LGBTQ+ identities, memory, childhood, and family, always approached from a personal and intimate perspective.
