Šimon Holý, born in Prague in 1994, is a Czech filmmaker and musician known for his work in both the film and music industries. He graduated from the Department of Feature Film Directing at FAMU. Holý has composed music for several films, including Olmo Omerzu's Winter Flies, for which he received a nomination for the Czech Lion Award from the Czech Film and Television Academy.
Holý's feature film debut, Mirrors in the Dark, premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2021 and received international recognition. Šimon Holý is also a teacher at the Television Institute in Brno, external tutor at FAMU and he is a member of the European Film Academy.
