Professional script and project development program created to offer unique support for Czech filmmakers with a feature film in development who believe in teamwork and the importance of script consultancy.

International feedback for local professionals

This program aims to support domestic production, introduce Czech filmmakers to renowned international script consultants, and assist producers with the production aspects of the projects.

In 2024, the program will be organized in partnership with the festival Finale Plzen Film Festival. MIDPOINT Intensive CZ also runs in collaboration with the Czech Film Center and their industry program Czech Film Springboard

For teams of a writer and a producer (and possibly a director) who are developing a Czech feature film

  • unique opportunity to consult on projects along with esteemed international mentors, both script consultants and producer
  • receive feedback from other filmmakers in the group
  • strengthen the work of the creative team
  • develop a new draft of the script
  • think outside the box and borders

Structure

Four-Day Intensive Experience

The program will select Czech creative teams of filmmakers (scriptwriters, directors, and producers) who are developing their feature fiction film projects. 
During the workshop, the teams will work on the creative development of the script as well as on the production aspects of their projects. 
The workshop consists of group work within a small group of participants accompanied by lectures.

Application & Fee

Fee

7 500 CZK
/ per participant. The fee includes accommodation, board, and tuition during the residential workshop, and the accreditation for the Finale Plzen festival. Travel costs are NOT included.

Application requirements

To apply for the program, please create an account on the MIDPOINT Visitor Page and follow the instructions within the submission form, where you can also find detailed information about application materials. 

The application materials consist of:

  • One Page Synopsis 
  • Script or Treatment
  • Author´s Statement (max. 1 page)
  • Preliminary financing plan (in Excel format) 
  • Producer´s Statement (1-2 pages. in PDF format)
  • Production company
  • Short professional biographies of all team members
  • Photos of all team members 
  • Moodboard (optional)

 

Who can apply?

  • Creative teams of writers and/or directors and producers (2-3 participants per team)
  • Czech projects
  • Projects with a majority of Czech financing
