Tomas Polensky
T.Polenský studied film directing at the Higher Vocational Film School in Zlín, where he graduated with the short film Alzheimer's Labyrinth. This film received an award at the Philosophical Film Fest in Krakow. He then studied film editing at FAMU in Prague, where he focused on original documentary filmmaking. His bachelor's film Ponorná řeka didaktiky won an award at the 2012 FAMU Fest and received a special jury prize at the 2013 Fresh Film Fest. In 2020, his feature fiction debut, The Pack, was released in cinemas. The film was featured at numerous international film festivals, including the main competition at the 60th Zlin Film Festival for Children and Youth, where it received a Special Jury Prize for the performance of the hockey team members, and in the youth film competition at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. In 2022, his time-lapse documentary War Veterans, following the return of military veterans to civilian life, premiered in the Czech competition at One World.
