Born 1988. Graduated at FAMU – production department. In 2016 he finished last film by Czech New Wave director Jan Nemec – The Wolf from Royal Vineyard Street – that had its world premiere at KVIFF Main Competition where it received a Main Jury Special Mention. The film was released at Rotterdam film festival, BAFICI and other international film festivals. He produced also a short animation Fruits of Clouds by Katerina Karhankova that was sold to France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg and was premiered at Annecy, then traveled to Anifilm, Cinekid, Clermont-Ferrand and other festivals. In 2011 he co-founded MasterFilm, where he produced Totally Talking (Karlovy Vary IFF), Bear with Us (Karlovy Vary 2018), documentaries Dangerous World of Doctor Dolecek and The Czech Way, which were selected for several international film festivals (DOK Leipzig, Pravo Ljudski, Jihlava and others). He also produced short films Shadow over Prague and an experimental The Return of the Dinosaurs. Michalek was selected for Emerging Producers 2016 organized by Jihlava IDFF and was a participant of ACE Training Days in 2017 and EURODOC 2018.
