Dorotea Vucic
Graduated in art history and philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb . She completed her graduate studies in film directing and screenwriting at the South African School oof Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance in Cape Town. Her student work Wamkelekile ( 2008) was nominated for an Oscar for best film in the category of student films , and entered the competition in acclaimed world film festivals, such as Clermont Ferrand.
Dorotea has worked on numerous media projects in Croatia and abroad, and under her authorial work there is also : a series of documentaries "Old Crafts in Zagreb (Croatian National Television), a short film Chocolate Cake (s : Mirjana Karanovic , Zrinka Cvitesic , Filip Križan) and the short film Lilly On The Moon, funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, produced by well-known production company Mainframe. She has also worked as a copy writer and commercial producer.
As a writer Dorotea appears behind a considerable number of Croatian TV shows (Good intentions , Wind Rose, The Best Years ).
Dorotea is currently developing her first feature in Croatian Ireland co-production as well as an animated feature, for both of which she got development support from Croatian Audiovisual Centre. Her first novel „The Scammers“ will be published under the support of the Croatian Ministry of Culture, in 2016.
