Mert Dilek
Mert Dilek is a writer and dramaturg with extensive experience in major theatres in Turkey and the UK. He is a Script Reader for the National Theatre in London and a Creative Associate at the Arcola Theatre, as well as a Judging Panellist for the Olivier Awards. He also scouts new work in the UK and the US for productions and screen adaptations elsewhere, cooperating with award-winning creative teams to facilitate the development of scripts across languages and cultural contexts.
Mert has recently completed John Yorke’s Story for Script Development course. In 2023, he was one of four creatives admitted to the Netflix Adaptation Lab—the highly selective project development program run by Netflix Turkey with Tatino Films. In conjunction with his creative practice, Mert teaches courses in dramatic literature and script analysis at the University of Cambridge, where he received his MPhil and PhD in English Literature. He earned his BA in English and Political Science from Yale University.
