Born in 1995, a graduate of Screenwriting at the National Film School in Łódź (2022) and Liberal Arts at Warsaw University (2017). Former journalist with Newsweek Poland magazine. Laureate of the Polish Film Institute Screenwriter’s Grant and Script Wars award, the latter for Anxiety of the Heart in 2022. Anxiety of the Heart participated in the MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2024 and is currently in late development. His short film A Beautiful Wildflower Meadow (dir. & co-written by Emi Buchwald) was screened at various festivals worldwide, including Palm Springs Int’l Shortfest, Warsaw FF (Best Live Action Short Award), Gdynia FF (Special Jury Award). His debut feature film (dir. & co-written by Emi Buchwald) is currently in postproduction. Karol is a Warsaw based writer, specializing in auteur cinema. He enjoys working with strong-minded directors and creative producers, as for him the fun part of moviemaking lies in colliding diverse ideas to realize a common vision. Secretly wants to be an actor one day.
