Fast Hearts

Eugene was born at the end of the war, right under his parents’ crashed motorcycle. His father, a successful dentist, wanted him to become a top tennis player, but the socialist regime hindered this dream. When state security arrests his father, Eugene is raised by his uncle, Speedway legend Milan Spinka. Eugene's life revolves around motorbikes, and his talent for predicting track events makes him a successful racer. He falls in love with model Eva and finds a mentor in Speedway star Luboš Tomíček. However, Luboš tragically dies in 1968, leaving Eugene devastated. After loosing a second male role model, Eugene's life spirals into parties and broken relationships, including with Eva, despite their daughter’s birth. He decides to emigrate, knowing his loved ones will suffer, but crashes in his last race, ending up in a wheelchair. His transformation begins in rehab, where he battles himself as well as to save the Golden Helmet race from extinction in the post-Velvet Revolution era, risking everything. Fast Hearts is about speed, adrenaline, famous riders, beautiful girls, and the unrelenting desire to win despite any fall.
