Born in Prague (1979). He studied production at FAMU, graduated with an MA
title in the year 2005. While studying, he had already worked as a production
assistant and a production manager in film companies such as Stillking, Filmservice,
and Dawson. In the year 2005 he became a producer in a production
company Ad Wood. He had bought the company two years later, and became the
owner. He is also a co-founder of the Film Kolektiv production company, which
was established in the year 2013 as a union of four producers (Jan Kallista, Pavel
Berčík, Ondřej Zima, Karla Stojáková).
Jan focuses mainly on production of commercial spots and international projects.
He’s a member of APA board - Asociace Producentů v Audiovizi (Association of
Producers in the Audiovision) and is also a representative of the Czech Republic
in the CFP-E (Europan Association of Commercial Producers) and a member of
the YDA jury (Young Director Award), which is a part of the annual Cannes Lions
awards.
