Gunel Eva is a contemporary artist, director, cinematographer, screenwriter, and animator specializing in stop-motion. She grew up in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she began painting at an early age. Gunel graduated from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2009. Her thesis documentary, "The String of Tar," screened at many festivals and was a “Critic’s Pick” at Best of Philadelphia Film Festival. Since then, she has worked in a variety of media, including music video, stop-motion animation, commercial, and documentary. In 2015, Gunel co-founded Light Machine Studios.
