Albert Hospodářský was born in 1996 and studied at FAMU in Prague in the Department of Documentary Filmmaking. During his studies, he made several short films, both documentary and fiction. One of them, Nekyia: Inner Portrait of the Poet Hradecky, competed in the Czech Joy competition section at MFDF Ji.hlava 2019. For his feature fiction debut, Brutal Heat (2023), he received the Jury’s Special Mention in the Proxima competition section at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, as well as the main prize for the best Czech feature film of the year at the Finale Pilsen Film Festival. He is currently working on his second feature, Restless, which is in development.
