Aija Berzina
Aija Berzina started out in film as Assistant Director back in 2001, having had her education in European Film College in Ebeltoft, Denmark, and the Latvian Academy of Culture in Riga.
Since 2011 Aija has been active as film producer and in 2012 produced the award-winning feature length documentary Documentarian (VFS Films, directed by Ivars Zviedris). In 2011 she established her own company “Tasse Film” and produced Renars Vimba feature fiction Mellow Mud (2016). Premiered at the Berlinale, it won a Crystal Bear for the best film in the Generation 14plus programme.
Since 2013 Aija heads the Producers Association of Latvia and in 2015 was elected as the chairman of Film Council at the Ministry of Culture. In 2014 Aija established Riga International Film Festival. Aija is a graduate of “EAVE Producers Workshop 2015” and “Producers on the move 2018”.
