Open Call for MIDPOINT Intensive Queer: Nurturing Diversity in Filmmaking
MIDPOINT Intensive Queer stands out as a professional training and networking platform, focusing on writers, directors, and producers actively engaged in developing feature fiction film projects with a queer perspective. The selected projects will undergo a comprehensive two-workshop program, offering a deep dive into script and project development, along with valuable opportunities for financing, networking, and co-production.
In a strategic move, MIDPOINT Intensive Queer will partially run concurrently with the MIDPOINT Feature Launch program. This integration aims to enhance networking prospects and leverage the expertise of tutors and industry experts attending these events.
Additionally, participants will have the chance to pitch their projects and network at the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Projects participating in the Intensive Queer program are eligible for the highly coveted Eurimages Co-production Development Award, amounting to 20,000 EUR. This esteemed accolade is hosted for the first time by the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The program is seeking creative teams, including writers, directors, and producers (with 2-3 participants per team), who are working on projects featuring LGBTQ+ characters or themes central.

January 8, 2024.
Fee:
1,200 EUR per participant
(covers accommodation, board, tuition during the residential workshop, and industry accreditation for the Karlovy Vary IFF. Please note that travel costs are not included.)
