In Athens, Greece, jaded advertising creative GIANNIS (37) and his optimistic wife LEAH (35) are on a weekend retreat with friends when Giannis receives fertility results - he’s sterile. On a walk in the woods, a depressed Giannis is about to end the relationship for Leah’s sake when an embryonic bubble rains down from the sky, bringing a strange fiveyear- old boy, LOKA, into their lives. The couple decide to protect him. They resort to stealing petrol to sate Loka’s unusual appetite, attracting attention from the Greek mafia who own it. They sell Loka's natural waste as mind-bending marijuana fertiliser to make ends meet, and soon a government agent is on their tail. All the while, Giannis and Leah begin to understand Loka; his ability to learn fast, smell emotions, and harm others when need be. Giannis is increasingly fascinated, while Leah grows wary. By the end of Season One, the couple faces threats from all corners… but they are beginning to look like a family.
