Ana and her misfit crew storm the Electrecord studios to make a documentary about the history of Romanian music, only to learn about a hidden force that shaped the nation’s past and threatens to distort their reality.
When a band of struggling artists known as The Romanian New Rave storms the Electrecord headquarters – a once-iconic communist-era music studio now struggling to survive – they take hostages to film a bold documentary reclaiming the forgotten musicians of the past. Their live-broadcast rebellion starts as a chaotic protest against a broken cultural system but takes a darker turn when “the wave,” a sinister Cold War propaganda tool, begins to distort reality.
Ana, their fiery leader, fights to steer the movement while confronting her own buried family traumas, which the wave twists into surreal chaos. Inside, tensions run high as reality fractures; outside, a curious crowd morphs into an emotional frenzy, swept into the madness. As the wave's grip tightens, the rebellion dissolves into absurd chaos, exposing a cycle of trauma that is possibly too entrenched to break.
