I have studied film history and theory, as well as social and cultural anthropology. During the 13 years I have worked in Latvian film industry I have collaborated with a number of film studios, mainly on project development and distribution. In various capacities I have worked for almost all Latvian film festivals – including Riga IFF, international short film festival 2Annas and national film festival Lielais Kristaps; as well as Latvian Television. I have been writing about film for different Latvian media more or less regularly since 2005, and I am also a translator and amateur comedian.
