Orsi Nagypal is a Hungarian filmmaker, who escaped the glitzy world of advertising to study at the London Film School. Since 2011 she’s been busy directing short films and TV shows, commissioned by HBO Europe and the Hungarian National TV. She wrote and directed all her shorts, that screened at festivals like Clermont-Ferrand. She took part at the Low Budget Film forum between 2008-2010, then developed her feature projects at Binger, Ekran, Sources2, Berlinale Co-prod market and SOS. In 2017 she wrote and directed her first feature film "OPEN", a sexual dramedy on monogamy, which premiered at the Montreal FF in 2018 and has been playing successfully to critical acclaim for 8 weeks now since this October in Hungary. Orsi worked as script consultant, then later as writer for years on the first ever original tv series for HBO Hungary. She is most interested in everyday heroes, human sexuality, and how we find our true selves whilst struggling with the constraints of our societies. More info: www.orsinagypal.hu
