Born 1980 in Freiburg, Germany. Karsten Krause studied film at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg and since then has been working as a producer and director. Furthermore he works as cinematographer for visual artists such as Annika Kahrs and Louis-Philippe Scoufaras. As a director he has shown his films at numerous international festivals and was awarded various prizes. With DIE FRAU DES FOTOGRAFEN he won the German Short Film Award 2011.
In 2016 he founded the production company fünferfilm. With its repertoire of artistic and unconventional documentaries, feature films and short films Fünferfilm has established itself internationally.
