The War Within

John is a 24 year old American who works a desk job, disillusioned in the meaning of his life. His father committed suicide when he was young and John is the only one who has seen the suicide letter and has yet to read it. He was a wide receiver in collage and is friendly with the old quarterback David who has problems with substance abuse and women and doesn’t fully fit into society when his dreams were crushed. David convinces John to go to Syria and fight for the Kurdish army. Leaves his love interest Marie and goes with John towards the fight against ISIS. During his stay in Syria John starts to question Davids view on the world and the reason for fighting as he sees countless bodies. The meaning to life he so desperately seeks eludes him as he finds out that Marie is pregnant and David has gone missing. John tries his best to find a way out of the situation he has put himself in and to find the meaning of life within.
