After finding out that her daughter Jaglika (17) died in a car accident, Marijana (41) is unsuccessfully trying to find a way to cope with that, which causes her to gradually get further away from her son Matija (15). According to the court expert, for Jaglika’s death Pavle (18), the son of mayoral candidate Dragan (45), isn't guilty. He claims that Jaglika committed suicide by throwing herself in front of the Pavle’s car. Marijana doesn’t want to accept that and begins an investigation of her own. Meanwhile, it is harder for Marijana to get through to her son, doubting her competence of being a mother. After struggling to find evidence to support her case and the suspicious disappearance of the judge, the case is postponed. Pushed to her limits, Marijana goes on a hunger strike to ensure a fair trial. When even with the new evidence the Judge sides with Pavle, Marijana takes the gun she had for protection and goes to Dragan’s house in the eve of his mayoral win.
